The Pre-purchase Inspection (PPI) is essential if you are interested in buying a car but you can’t be here in person. I will be your set of eyes at the car. I can see good and bad things that photographs can't always capture. You need a qualified unbiased inspector to report back to you on the accuracy of the advertised features. I will report back to you within an hour of inspecting the vehicle whether it is in the condition and is equipped as it is advertised or if there are any red flags. I always share my summary findings with the seller so that there are no surprises. I will then write a formal PPI report within 8 hours. If you want to make an offer to buy the car after my inspection I can appraise it for you within 2 days using my notes and photographs from the PPI. If you choose not to buy the car you only pay for the PPI. A PPI requires a signed contract between us that I will be paid if you decide not to buy the car after my inspection. Reach out to me through the contact page and I will show you a typical PPI report, 100’s of photographs, and share how I reach my conclusions.
Sellers of classics will encounter a number of reasons why a PPI is essential. Perhaps you have inherited a classic and you would like to sell it. I will provide you with a detailed and thorough inspection which can be shared with potential buyers. This unbiased and transparent report will also educate potential buyers that have never purchased a classic. The PPI gives you an electronic document to share in advertisements, auctions, etc. I will be happy to take questions from potential buyers. Perhaps you would like to add on my appraisal services to the PPI? This appraisal report will tell you exactly what your car is worth. This valuation or the comparables are never shared with anyone other than you. I have helped families with the sensitive process of selling a car to another family member. My PPI and Appraisal can take the guesswork out of the vehicle value and provide a fair amount to use in negotiations.
Donating a classic car to a charity requires an appraisal if the appraised appraised value exceeds $5,000. I am trained and certified by the IRS to appraise the classic that you are donating. Consult your tax professional before you donate your vehicle and then we can begin the appraisal process.
